One of the latest high-mast urban lighting installations, completed at Salerno, uses Thorn floodlights.

Lighting the "Park of Mercatello", one of the largest parks in Italy, the installation is based on rectangular-section tapered masts from French maker, Aubrilam, interspersed between attractions such as an artificial lake, canal and outdoor artworks.

Each timber based "Eagle" mast supports four, flat glass floodlights (Troika), one on each side, above four circular projectors (Contrast R) inset in a vertical stack. It also incorporates blue LED Band light strips at the base. The system is planned so that the lighting distribution from the fixed Troika floodlights overlaps, resulting in a more uniform illumination at ground level, while the flexible, symmetrical Contrast R's allows for a variety of beam profiles to suit the individual application.
